During her visit to Laos in September 2017, ELTO Administrator Berit Mohr had the pleasure of meeting with a group of Alumni in Vientiane
Experiences were shared among the intakes. Several participants talked about their future plans and coming back to New Zealand or Australia to complete their postgraduate studies. Everyone had a lot of fun and comments like: “This is the first alumni event we have had so far” were repeated several times. Malathpip and Toulina from Intake 42 both said: “We have not seen each other since the day we arrived back in Vientiane last year in June – we should have these events more often”.
“I was deliberately passed on from intake to intake and person to person throughout the week. I was shown around and visited many nice places – The Buddha Park, Pha That Luang, Patuxai and many others. Neth and Tok from intake 44 took me cycling along the Mekong River for 60 km in the morning to enjoy stunning views and coconut water out of the coconut. Lao cuisine is most delicious and to my taste – nice and spicy.
Overall, it was such a great time and I was pleased to see so many old faces and am looking forward to going again in the near future.
