Provisionally Registered Teachers (PRTs) and Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs)

Accent Learning advisers provide support for Provisionally Registered Teachers (PRTs) and Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs). We assist them in developing an effective advice and guidance programme with their supervising teacher and in maintaining the documentation they need for registration. We are able to provide support in specific learning areas and the opportunity to network with other PRTs.

We also support Supervising (Tutor) Teachers in developing effective advice and guidance programmes with the PRTs for whom they are responsible.  We can guide them in developing their mentoring skills as well as clarifying their responsibilities and the New Zealand Teachers Council’s expectations in relation to the registration process.

This support is provided through a mix of workshops, cluster meetings and in-school support.
