Wellington cityscape delights agriculture experts

Though the expertise of most of the Intake 34 ELTOs is rural development, they were delighted to spend their first few days in Wellington city enjoying the urban landscape.

Pictured here in Civic Square on their third day, they were about to travel to Nelson and Napier for Part one of their course.

During their five months here, they will study an intensive English language course, visit workplaces, and stay in New Zealand homes, ensuring that they experience the Kiwi way of life as well as learn about government matters.

Included in the group are officials from ministries of Agriculture and Rural development, Health, Finance, Planning and Investment, Economic Development, as well as Commerce, Labour, Foreign Affairs and others. The group of 33 (Intake 34 in the ELTO Programme) arrived in New Zealand on 24 January 2012 and after four days in Wellington, split into two and began their studies at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and the Eastern Institute of Technology. They will return to study at Victoria University of Wellington in March.
