I started teaching in 1987 and have eleven years experience in New Zealand teaching science to years 9 to 11 and senior biology. I have been a teacher in charge of biology and in 2010 was awarded a teacher fellowship by the Royal Society of New Zealand. In 2011 I began my contract as science adviser.
I have extensive experience in writing internal assessments for year 11 science and senior biology. I have also designed and delivered programmes at secondary school level to promote science to Maori and Pasifika students.
