Hilary has held adviser roles in two government ministries: the Ministry of Education International Division and the Ministry of Economic Development.
Her teaching experience includes primary teaching in Wellington, New Zealand, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Also while in Vietnam Hilary was South East Asia programme adviser for Polytechnics International New Zealand (PINZ).
During Hilary’s journalism career, she spent 11 years as editor/education adviser at the Dominion and Evening Post Newspapers in Wellington.
